Justins Job and New Icons!

So today was the grand opening of John Lewis At Home in Newbury and the first day of Justin’s new job in store. Let’s hope it’s better for him than his previous employment history!

I popped along to the opening of the store and I was first struck by the fact that they had employed a band to play at the front of the shop where customers would be greeted by live music.

The band that greeted you upon entry to the store.

Looking around, the shop was packed full of everything you’d expect. Kitchenware, towels, bedding etc. Everything you could want was provided and there was an especially large display of London 2012 Olympic merchandise.

But possibly the best area in the store was the electronics department, staffed by our very own Justin! Unfortunately he was far too busy to notice me, but he looked very professional whilst talking his customers through the benefits of different electrical systems.

Justin, looking professional with a customer.

The other thing I’ve done with my day is to create some new “Blavatars” or Blog Icons for both Running Jump and Eat, Sleep, Procrastinate – my second blog. You can check these out in the left hand side of your adress bar and most likely in the Reader, if you follow the blogs, which I reccomend you do!

Have a nice weekend!

Where Have You Been?

Well, this IS awkward. Not two. Posts after saying I neglected blogging, I once again neglected blogging. I wish I had an excuse…

So things that I’ve been doing are many and varied and rest assured you’ll hear about them soon. I mean I can’t let justin struggle on through holding this blog up by himself any longer. We’d never get views! ;)

So here we go: a final attempt at blogging on a more regular(ish) schedule. I’m nervous about having interesting things to talk about but I guess I’ll have to do it.

BEDA: Day 17 – Wet.

I cycled in to town today to get the coach to Swindon for my last day of training. The sun is coming out now, but on the way in, I got soaked. I had full wet weather gear on, and I still got drenched.

I hate days like this. Work should be a blast, but the weather hasn’t made my morning.

As I was saying, its my last day at Swindon before the big day. I’m getting quite excited, king of my own castle finally.

Should have gotten more sleep last night too. I’m going to suffer at this welcome evening. Hopefully there will be enough food to tide me over.

Onward driver!

BEDA: Day 16 – The Big Week.

Morning, its Monday again and, as usual, I’m quite tired still.

It’s a big week for me, the last 2 days of training at Swindon, then the welcome evening tomorrow. Wednesday will be my recovery day then it all kicks off.

Friday 20th is the big day, I know I’ll be getting in nice and early. Have a quick explore of the store and then be completely engulfed by the opening day crowd. It’s going to be epic, but completely exhausting.

I’m ready, I think?
I hope so, because I’m not gonna fall :3

BEDA: Day 15 – Back for more…….food.

Yes, I have made a return to Cardiff, this time dropping off sis, instead of raiding her cupboards for food.

I’m currently sitting in Pizza Express after a lovely afternoon at the bay.

More photos of Ianto’s grave, and more seagulls. Isn’t life grand :)

Love the Millennium Centre. I really wish Torchwood would come back to Cardiff.

I’m waiting for pizza to come now, let’s not get too many greasy fingers on the iPad!

BEDA: Day 14 – Allotment

Good morning all. Its much too early for me to be blogging on a Saturday, but never the less I am here.

Even though it’s raining, I think Im going to take the opportunity today to get out to my allotment and put some more stuff in, tend to my potatoes and onions, and just give it a good going over, see if i can recover the back end of it.

I still have no idea what else I should be growing in it, time to have a look at a growing calendar.

Still, growing my own means I don’t have to worry about increasing prices in the supermarkets :)

BEDA: Day 13 – Running on fumes? Time for a new bike.

Being Friday the 13th today I had a bit of a scare, car running low on fuel, forgetting stuff for work.

Its been a distressing day.

Never the less, I’m home finally and I think its about time I treated myself with a new toy.

As most of you may know I take a lot of photographs for my local cycling club, and as I watch then all go by, my longing for getting back in the race increases. So its time to get back on the bike.

But not my old, Decathlon bike (that probably has fallen apart by now). Its time for a new one.

I’ve got my eyes on the Cube Aerium Pro, and at £1500 its no laughing matter.

Quite the stunner, don't you think?

Its got a pretty decent spec to it, Shimano Ultegra all round, Easton EA50 wheelset.

But, I’m really open to suggestions. It’s been a while since I was tinkering with this stuff, and it all moves on quite quickly.

So tell me Forum, what should I be getting?

BEDA: Day 12 – Photography Genius

Good morning, I’m pretty tired right now. I stayed up well too late last night, and I suffered for it.

Yesterday night was another photography success, more amazing photos, despite the loss of the light as it got later in to the evening. It was well worth it though, I think, hopefully I might see another on of my pictures in the paper!

Last Night's Winner - Peter Weir.

Im really quite looking forward to the summer. More sunlight, better photos, and I might even do a race. See if I can better last years 10 mile PB of 25:46. I was pretty impressed with that time, considering I had no training. Hell, maybe if i do a bit of training I can knock 4 minutes off! It would be nice to think I could. 21:46 would be a pretty amazing time for me.

Anyway, the coach is on its way to Swindon again, I’ve built up my external HDD and I’m ready to rock.

Bring it on!

BEDA: Day 11 – Tennis Elbow

Good Morning!

Its a beautiful Wednesday morning, possible highs of 15 degrees, minimal cloud coverage, and a distinct possibility of running out of energy.

Yesterday evening was pretty good, another round of tennis with good friends from work.

Surprisingly, my game is improving. I think all that coaching from years ago is starting to come back to me!

Although, I really need to get a headband of some sort, because my hair is all over my face.

Much like this…..

Hair!

I think it needs a cut, again.

On a side note, a very good friend of my has a blog too. She’s been going for about 8 months now and I really want you all to give her as much support as possible. The poetry is amazing and the short stories are original and overall excellent. Check it out at here – Sophie Bowns

You’d be silly not to!
